ARC READING CLUB

The Arc Reading Club is a group of poets, open mic performers, musicians, writers and visual/graphic artists who get together on an ad hoc basis to read to one another. We read our own poems, each other poems, international published writers as well as well as the words of unpublished local writers. Our oldest member, Professor Leloba Molema is 82 years old, retired from the University of Botswana, and the heartbeat of the group. We are diverse and inclusive and coordinate our meetings via a dedicated WhatsApp group that anyone can ask to join.

The ARC CINE CLUB

The ARC CINE CLUB is facilitated by THEBE Gee, a cinematographer trained at the Beijing Film Academy. Thebe runs his own company Serati Films, providing high quality cinematography and television production services. Thebe facilitates the screening of local and international films at the Gabz Club once a month.  As well as organizing the access to the films screened, THEBE also organizes a specialist panel to open discussion around issues arising from the content of each film screened. These discussions are driven by audience participation and are always thought provoking, insightful and inspiring. The ARC Cine Club is proud to be involved in the growth of critical audience  participation in the nurturing of a local film industry in terms of both its technical and content development.

The ARC Cine Club has a dedicated Whats group that is open to anyone who wishes to join. Screenings are advertised on the group as well as all the ARC social media platforms.

The Art Residency Centre collaborates with partners within the wider community who offer spaces for exhibitions, workshops and dialogues:
